Hire Test Engineers: HIL, Automation and V&V

Hire test engineers in India through Stalwart Innovations: HIL and SIL engineers, test automation engineers, embedded verification and validation engineers, post-silicon validation engineers, DO-178C verification engineers and EMC and environmental test engineers. Practising test engineers screen every candidate on benches, scripts and evidence they have built, and you can hire individuals or hand over a managed test scope.

Roles we place

HIL and SIL engineers

Plant models, bench configuration, fault insertion and virtual ECU regression. More on HIL and SIL testing.

Test automation engineers

Python, CAPL and Robot Framework suites, CI pipelines and reporting for embedded and ECU testing. More on test automation.

Embedded V&V engineers

Requirements-based testing, unit and integration testing with coverage, and traceability for ISO 26262, IEC 62304 or IEC 61508.

Post-silicon validation engineers

Silicon bring-up, validation scripts, characterisation and debug. See semiconductor engineering staffing.

DO-178C verification engineers

Requirements-based tests, MC/DC coverage and verification records for airborne software. See hire avionics engineers.

EMC and environmental test engineers

Test plans, fixtures and pre-compliance for MIL-STD-461H, MIL-STD-810H and DO-160G. More on MIL-STD-810 and 461 testing.

How hiring works

01

Role brief

We confirm the test level, bench or lab equipment, automation framework, standards and evidence required, location and whether you want individuals or a managed scope.

02

Technical screening by practising engineers

Practising test engineers interview on bench set-up, automation design, coverage analysis or test-plan problems matched to the role. The method is set out on how we vet engineers.

03

Shortlist with written assessment

The shortlist includes a written assessment per candidate: benches and tools used, evidence produced for audits, notice period and joining date.

04

Your interviews

You interview the shortlisted engineers and choose. We coordinate panels and feedback.

05

Onboarding and follow-up

We handle contracts and onboarding, including lab access, then check in regularly after the start.

Engagement options

Test engineering market and buyer risks

Testing demand is rising across all four domains. Euro NCAP 2026 is its biggest protocol overhaul since 2009, adding ADAS robustness and driver-monitoring tests; UNECE R155 requires cybersecurity verification testing for type approval; and MIL-STD-461H, released on 17 April 2026, is prompting updates to EMI test procedures. GMI estimates the hardware-in-the-loop testing market at $1.27 bn in 2025. Virtual ECUs are moving regression earlier, but HIL remains the final gate because SIL cannot cover real sensors and actuators.

Automation skills are uneven. The World Quality Report 2025–26 finds 89% of organisations piloting or deploying generative AI in quality engineering but only 15% scaling it, so engineers who can build maintainable automation are in demand. Senior test engineers commonly serve 60 to 90 days' notice. Contract-to-hire bridges the gap, and when you need results rather than headcount, managed testing services or independent verification and validation may fit better.

Need a test campaign rather than individual hires?

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide test engineers, test benches, or both?

Both routes exist. You can hire individual test engineers to work on your benches, or hand over a scope through managed testing services, where we deliver results and evidence. Bench design and setup is covered by HIL test bench setup. Tell us which you need at the brief stage.

Which HIL platforms do your engineers know?

dSPACE SCALEXIO with ControlDesk and AutomationDesk, NI VeriStand and Vector CANoe are the platforms most often named in Indian job advertisements, so we screen for them explicitly. The written assessment states which platforms, model types and automation frameworks each engineer has used on real programmes.

What is the difference between SIL and HIL testing?

SIL runs software or a virtual ECU against simulated models on a computer, so it scales well in CI and runs early. HIL runs the real ECU against a real-time simulator with electrical I/O, so it catches timing, signal and hardware issues SIL cannot. Most programmes use both. See SIL testing and HIL testing.

How soon can a test engineer start?

It depends on notice period, commonly 60 to 90 days for senior engineers in India. We state notice and joining dates on the shortlist. An engineer available on contract can start while a permanent hire serves notice, and a managed scope can begin without waiting for individual hires.

Can test engineers work onsite in our lab?

Yes. HIL, post-silicon and environmental test engineers usually need to be onsite with benches, testers or chambers, while automation development can be remote or hybrid. Location is agreed per role, in Bengaluru or another Indian city.

Who owns the test scripts and evidence?

IP ownership and confidentiality are written into the contract before work starts, normally assigning scripts, test cases and results to you. Engineers sign your NDAs and work in your repositories and test-management tools.

What if the engineer is not the right fit?

Replacement terms are agreed in the contract before the engagement starts. Regular check-ins aim to catch problems early, and if a replacement is needed we restart the search with a sharper brief.
