Teams we build
Embedded software teams
Firmware, BSP, embedded Linux and driver engineers with a technical lead. See embedded and industrial.
Automotive software teams
AUTOSAR integration, diagnostics and functional safety teams working to your ASPICE process.
Test and validation teams
HIL, SIL and test automation teams running regression and release testing. See managed testing.
Verification teams
UVM design verification and post-silicon validation teams for fabless firms and GCCs. See pre-silicon verification.
V&V teams for safety-critical software

Dedicated team, staff augmentation or Build-Operate-Transfer
| Staff augmentation | Dedicated team | Build-Operate-Transfer | |

| Hiring and retention | Stalwart sources; you direct | Stalwart owns | Stalwart owns until transfer |
| Workspace and infrastructure | Your site or remote | Stalwart office, your site or hybrid | Stalwart first, then your own centre |

Setting up a dedicated team
01
Scope and team shape
We agree the work, roles, seniority mix, team lead, ways of working and reporting cadence.
02
Core hires first
The lead and senior engineers are hired and screened first, so they help select the rest. See how we vet engineers.
03
Knowledge transfer
Your engineers walk the team through architecture, tools, processes and review gates.
04
Steady-state delivery
Sprint or release-based delivery with agreed metrics, reviews and escalation paths.
05
Grow, adjust or transfer
Team size changes with notice agreed in the contract, and transfer through Build-Operate-Transfer when you are ready.
The path to Build-Operate-Transfer
Many GCCs and product companies start with a dedicated team to prove the work can be done from India, then want to own it. With Build-Operate-Transfer, we set up and run the team, and transfer the engineers, processes and knowledge to your own entity at an agreed point. See the BOT glossary entry for the model in brief.
Planning for transfer from the start makes it smoother: employment terms, tool licences, documentation and team leadership are set up so the move is a change of employer, not a restart. For centres that are still forming, see GCC engineering hiring.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between staff augmentation and a dedicated team?
With staff augmentation, individual engineers join your team and you direct them. A dedicated team is a complete unit with its own lead, managed by us and working only on your roadmap. Augmentation fills gaps; a dedicated team takes on a defined body of work without adding to your management load.
How small can a dedicated engineering team be?
A dedicated team can start with a few engineers and a lead, and grow as the work is proven. The minimum depends on whether the team needs its own lead and lab equipment. We size it with you during scoping rather than applying a fixed minimum.
Is Build-Operate-Transfer suitable for a team of under 50 engineers?
It can be, if you want to own an India centre in the long term. Smaller teams often run as a dedicated team first, then transfer through Build-Operate-Transfer once the scope is stable and you have, or are setting up, your own entity. The transfer terms are agreed at the start.
Who owns the IP the team creates?
You do, under the contract. Team members sign confidentiality and IP assignment terms with us, and the work product is assigned to you. Where needed, the team works in a segregated area and on your repositories and tool licences, under access controls you approve.
Can a dedicated team include test benches as well as engineers?
Yes, scoped per engagement. A test team can work on your HIL rigs on site, on benches you ship to us, or on benches we set up for the programme. See HIL test bench setup for how rigs are specified and commissioned.
What happens if a team member leaves?
Retention and replacement are our responsibility in a dedicated team. We keep documentation and pairing practices that limit the impact of one person leaving, and replace engineers under the terms in the contract. Your delivery commitments are tracked at team level, not per person.
Can the team work on site at our facility?
Yes. Teams can work at your facility, from our Bengaluru office or in a hybrid arrangement, depending on lab access, hardware and your security policy. Many test teams split time between the bench and the office.
